Mr. Yu, the director of Jumbo Chains published an article entitled "Asset Management in China", which aroused widespread concern in the industry. The concepts and opinions elaborated in this article suggest that Mr. Yu is forward-looking and he is able to incorporate unique management concepts into the practice of local asset management. Over the next seven years, Jumbo has been in the rapid development across the country. Up to now, the advanced management model proposed by Jumbo has been implemented in over 40 cities in China.Along with the development strategy of specialization, Jumbo is moving towards the new target of internationalization in 2013.

Philip•Lo: I have known Mr. Yu and Jumbo Chains for over 12 years now. Over these years, Mr. Yu and I have travelled together and attended many international conferences and seminars on facility management and asset management. I am quite sure that our learnings and exposure to these international concepts on facility and asset management has influenced the business approach and practices of Jumbo Chains. Together with Jumbo's local expertise and experience, they have formulated unique management concepts and practices, which would be most appropriate for, and applicable to the China corporate real estate market. |

Editor: In September, 2013, Jumbo attended two international conferences, which are 2013 World Workplace Asia organised by IFMA in Shanghai and International Commercial Real Estate Asset Value Forum held by BOMA in Beijing. To some extent, Jumbo has brought about a lot of advanced global concepts for the local real estate industry. As Jumbo becomes increasingly active in the international market, its practical experience with Chinese characteristics will be promoted on the international stage. What is your view on this issue? What are the other feasible ways of pursing internationalisation? |

Philip•Lo: The basic driving force for adopting facility and real estate management practices in western companies is to improve the efficiencies, to increase the competitiveness of the organizations in the marketplace, and also to provide a desirable workplace for their staff and customers. As China's enterprises are now shifting from state owned enterprises ( where there was little competition ) to private or listed enterprises, they face the same competitiveness in the marketplace as in the western countries. Therefore by adopting these practices, these organizations can improve their competitiveness and efficiencies. Jumbo has the advantage of understanding these drivers for change, and how to improve facility operational efficiencies and effectiveness. Therefore it can better support these organizations in managing their facilities in a effective manner, resulting in the organization's competitiveness in the marketplace. |
